el_id=&#8221;eyeled-surgery&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2>Good candidates for an eyeled surgery are those<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>With a cutaneous excess and\/or fat excess on the upper lids weighing down the look, which may create a discomfort in make-up.<\/li>\n<li>With lower palpebral bags (bags under the eyes).<\/li>\n<li>Wishing a natural and rested look.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;box__item_ancre&#8221; el_id=&#8221;procedure-stages&#8221;][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2>Procedure stages<\/h2>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]An ambulatory hospitalization (hospital discharge that very evening) is the most common option.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Upper Blepharoplasty : <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pre-operative markings are performed by Dr. Petit before the procedure.<\/p>\n<p>The surgery is performed under local anesthesia<\/p>\n<p>It consists in removing the cutaneous excess and the internal fat bag (if it exists) of the upper lids.<\/p>\n<p>The scars are concealed within the natural furrow situated above each upper eyelid and laterally end within a crow\u2019s feet wrinkle. These ones are invisible full-term.<\/p>\n<p>The skin closure is performed with non-resorbable sutures.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lower Blepharoplasty :<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The procedure is performed under local anesthesia together with an intravenous sedation (administering of a tranquilizer) or under general anesthesia according to your choice or the associated gestures planned.<\/p>\n<p>The bags under the eyes are removed through the trans-conjunctival area (through the conjunctival mucosa). The scars are invisible given that they are situated within the lower eyelids.<\/p>\n<p>The closing of the conjunctival mucosa is not necessary.<br \/>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;box__item_ancre&#8221; el_id=&#8221;after-surgery&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2>What to expect after surgery<\/h2>\n<p>The eyelid surgery is a little painful procedure, even not painful. A transitory discomfort with tearing is possible owing to greater sensitivity to light. This is the reason why it is advised to wear sunglasses the first post-operative days.<\/p>\n<p>Ecchymosis (bruises) and the swelling (\u0153dema) of the eyelids vary from one patient to another, and gradually diminish within a fortnight.<\/p>\n<p>The application of ice-cold compresses on the eyes is recommended during a few days in order to facilitate the absorption of the palpebral oedema.<\/p>\n<p>The sutures on the upper eyelid are removed on the fifth post-operative day.<br \/>\nThere are not sutures to be removed on the lower eyelids.<\/p>\n<p>Make-up is authorized from the 7th day.<\/p>\n<p>The progressive resumption of daily activities is possible the day following the procedure.<\/p>\n<p>The resumption of professional activities can be done within 7 days.<\/p>\n<p>The resumption of sports activities is authorized within 2 to 3 weeks after the procedure.<br \/>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;box__item_ancre&#8221; el_id=&#8221;risks&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2>Procedure risks<\/h2>\n<p>The complications of an eyelid surgery are rare and will be mentionned by Dr Petit during the consultation.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;box__item_ancre&#8221; el_id=&#8221;long-term-outcome&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2>Long-term outcome<\/h2>\n<p>The final result relating to an eyelid surgery is reached between 3 to 6 months after the procedure.<\/p>\n<p>In general, this result is definitive on the lower lids.
